TALK BACKS
Talk-backs are a great way for students to interact with the performers involved in the show. Arrangements can only be made for post-show discussions after the student matinee performance.
Arranging a Talk-Back
Talk-backs must be arranged in advance of the performance. There is no minimum or maximum number of students that can participate.
The Talk-Back
After the performance has ended, the schools scheduled for the talk-back should remain seated in the auditorium to let the others filter out. Depending on how many schools are involved and where each is located in the auditorium, the students may be instructed to move closer to the stage. The students are only to move when directed by a theatre representative.
Talk-backs typically last anywhere from 10-20 minutes, as it is a double performance day for the actors.
4 Simple Rules for Participating in the Talk-Backs
- If you want to ask a question, put up your hand
- Only ask your question when you are called on
- Speak loud so that everyone can hear you
- Listen to the questions being asked so you do not ask the same question twice
