BUSSES
We know that getting to and from the theatre isn't always as easy as it should be and that arranging busing can sometimes be a hassle.
Trouble with timing
Although it is imperative that you arrive before the production starts, we understand that in some cases your bus may not be able to return to pick you up until well after the show has ended. Whereas we do recommend alternate arrangements be made, we realize that it may not always be possible.
Once the show has ended, all those in the auditorium must exit to the lobby and await the arrival of their buses. At this point, the auditorium doors will be locked for cleaning and a pre-set for the evening's performance.
If you and your students have to wait more than 25 minutes for your bus to arrive, please notify us well in advance. Arrangements can be made to help pass the time by with things such as question and answer periods or various theatre games. Early notification also enables us to allocate the appropriate staffing and schedule the cleaning of the lobby before the evening's performance.
Bus Parking
Parking for buses is limited and those buses coming in from out of town should be given priority. Local buses are encouraged to return to their holding lot until they are scheduled to pick up their passengers.
Buses are not allowed to park on King William Street as it makes it difficult for the emergency vehicles to pass through. (The Police Station is located almost directly across from the theatre and the Fire Station is just a few blocks down.)
In a policy created with the Hamilton-Wentworth Police, The City of Hamilton and Theatre Aquarius, no more than 4 buses may be on King William loading and unloading passengers. 2 buses are allowed in the drop off zone directly in front of the theatre and 2 buses may pull up directly behind those in the drop off zone.
After passengers have unloaded, buses will then be directed to Bayfront Park located at Bay & Stuart Street. Once there the buses must only park on the gravel portion of the lot.
Please note: Under this policy, tickets can be issued to those buses/bus drivers that park/stand in unauthorized areas.
